Indigenous Heritage

Greenview has a rich Indigenous heritage, made up of seven co-ops and enterprises:

  • Kamisak Develop. Co-op Ltd.
  • Muskat Seepee Co-op
  • Susa Creek Co-op
  • Victor Lake Co-op
  • Wanyandie Co-op Ltd. East
  • Wanyandie Co-op Ltd. Wast

These Co-ops and enterprises communicate with the municipality through Mountain Metis or Aseniwuche Winewak Nation (AWN).

Greenview also surrounds Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation.

The Aseniwuche Winewak Nation (translation: Rocky Mountain People) practice their cultural ways to this day in Greenview, made up of singers, dancers, artisans, and storytellers who maintain the vibrancy of the Greenview community. Traditional dancing, hideaway camps, as well as traditional camps are all activities that are open to the public.
